| SIXTY-FIVE-FOOT CEILINGS, MARBLE AND STAINED GLASS NO PROBLEM FOR SABINE GRAPHI-QS IN MONUMENTAL MONASTERY INSTALL |

ALACHUA, FLORIDA - Fifteen channels of Sabine GRAPHI-Q's process the audio in the main cathedral at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery Farm (Hanceville, Alabama) - an extremely challenging acoustical environment. "It's the most amazing building I have ever seen: 65-foot ceilings, marble, plaster of paris, incredible stained glass - but what a nightmare for sound - it's like an echo chamber," states Charles Tombrello, owner of Absolute Audio Electronics. The state-of-the-art sound system features an automatic microphone mixer and 14 custom-built speaker cabinets - each with its own amplification and each with a dedicated channel of a GRAPHI-Q GRQ-3102S to handle equalization, limiting, feedback control and digital delay. Hard, flat surfaces within the cathedral give the cavernous room a reverb time (RT) of between 6.7 and 10 seconds. "The GRAPHI-Q gives us the kind of audio processing we need to make an acoustically unintelligible room clear and crisp," asserts Tombrello "We used a GRAPHI-Q in a previous install," Tombrello remembers. "We liked the fact that the GRQ-3102S is self-contained and only uses one rack unit of space. Additionally, everything can be set with your laptop, stored, and reset or recalled. But once it's in there and you've left, would-be "engineers" can't go in there and make smiley faces with the response curves. The GRAPHI-Q keeps them from messing with the sound, and the contractor from having to drive a hundred miles to fix the mess." An additional GRQ-3101S will be used for rooms separate from the main system. The GRAPHI-Q is an all-digital 31-band equalizer, FBX Feedback Exterminator®, parametric EQ, compressor/limiter and delay. GRAPHI-Q comes in single channel (one in, two out) or dual channel (two in, two out) models. GRQ-3101 and GRQ-3102 GRAPHI-Qs can be controlled by their front panels or by very powerful computer software. GRQ-3101S and GRQ-3102S GRAPHI-Qs have blank front panels and are computer controlled. All GRAPHI-Qs have 70 on-board program memories, multi-unit linking ability and password protection. Sabine also manufactures the True Mobility Wireless Systems with Targeted Input Processing (FBX, Compressor/Limiter, De-Esser); POWER-Q (nine Pro Audio products in one 2U unit); REAL-Q2 Real-Time Adaptive Equalizer; FBX-SOLO Feedback Exterminators®; and the SDA-102 and DQX-206 Digital Delays. Sabine's FBX products are used by such diverse venues as the United Nations (NY), The American Stock Exchange, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Vatican, NASA and Walt Disney Company. In addition, Sabine products have been selected for use at the Sydney (Australia) Olympics 2000. |
