TEN SABINE GRAPHI-QS MIX NEW GEORGIA BALLROOM
AT GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER

ALACHUA, FL — Al Bryant gazed upon a fellow engineer's monitor rack filled with Sabine Graphi-Qs and knew that was the answer for the soon to be opened Georgia Ballroom at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC).

“When I matched the Graphi-Q’s price with all the functions available in a 1-U rack space, I knew I needed them for my monitor mix at the Georgia Ballroom.”
Al Bryant, Senior Audio Technician, GWCC

"I was very impressed with what the monitor engineer could do with the Graphi-Qs," states Bryant, Senior Audio Technician for the GWCC. "When I matched the Graphi-Q's price with all the functions available in a 1-U rack space," he continues, "I knew I needed them for my monitor mix at the Georgia Ballroom."

The GWCC’s Phase IV expansion includes the 25,700-square foot Georgia Ballroom; wherein Bryant controls 10 Meyer monitor wedges with a dedicated Sabine GRQ3101 Multifunction Digital Signal Processor for each. The Graphi-Qs are inserted into the mix and handle feedback control, equalization and compression.

“I am very happy with the Graphi-Qs,” states Bryant. “I have used some of the other feedback controllers and I am not as impressed with them,” he continues. “They are not as user-friendly as the Graphi-Q, and they don’t do the job as well. Graphi-Qs have the features I want at the right price, and they get the job done.”

The Graphi-Q is a 31-band Digital EQ, FBX Feedback Exterminator®, Compressor/Limiter and Delay all in one, with all functions able to operate concurrently. The Graphi-Q comes in single channel (one in, two out) or dual channel (two in, two out) models. Single-channel GRQ3101 and dual-channel GRQ3102 Graphi-Qs can be controlled by front panel or by powerful computer software. Single-channel GRQ3101-S and dual-channel GRQ3102-S Graphi-Qs have blank front panels and are computer controlled. All Graphi-Qs have remote switching capability and can be controlled via SIA SmaartLive™ audio analysis software.

“Sabine software gives me complete control over the Graphi-Q’s DSP,” exclaims Bryant. “I can switch FBX filters to parametric and narrow them to one one-hundredth of an octave.

Bryant is a long-time user of Sabine FBX Feedback Controllers. “I always keep an FBX-SOLO handy in my tool box for when I have a group of lavaliere or wireless microphones on stage,” asserts Bryant. “Inserting a SOLO into a sub-group can be a real life saver at corporate meetings or similar venues where you’ve got mics going out into the audience to field questions,” Bryant explains.

Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center features 1.4 million square feet of prime exhibit space, 12 exhibit halls, 105 meeting rooms, 2 grand ballrooms and 2 landscaped plazas. Complemented by the Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park, the three facilities comprise one of the finest convention, sports, and entertainment complexes in the world.
