Alachua, Florida Steve Carlson doesnt get the easy installations,
but with help from Sabine, he makes them easy and everyone is happy.
For the first time since the church was built, I can understand
whats being said, comments one long-time parishioner of St.
Josephs Catholic Church (Williston, North Dakota). Carlson installed a Sabine Graphi-Q 31-band Digital EQ with built-in FBX Feedback Exterminator®, Compressor/Limiter and Digital Delay into the church sound system to end twenty-five years of unintelligible audio and feedback. |

| St. Josephs has massive, wooden cross-brace timbers extending down from a very high ceiling to about eleven feet off the sanctuary floor, states Carlson. The affect is beautiful and impressive, but a nightmare for audio coverage, he continues. The complicated structure caused sound to be muffled and unintelligible. I used the Graphi-Qs FBX and digital delay to counteract the effect of the architecture, Carlson attests. Now you have clear, crisp audio and the same tonal contour no matter where you are in the church. | |||

| The Graphi-Q is a great way to solve a lot of problems,
asserts Carlson, and thats why we use them. In many of the rooms we
do, without Sabine FBX, youre dead in the water. Carlson is the principle of the North Star Audio Consulting firm (Bismarck, ND). As consultants, North Star is hired by church and auditorium managers to help with their audio equipment needs. A lot of times, states Carlson, they have had several audio companies in there unsuccessfully and end up asking me to do the job. We helped another church where the sanctuary doubled as a gymnasium to avoid spending a previously estimated $30,000 on their sound system, states Carlson. They already had excellent amplification, he remembers. All they needed was the razor-sharp equalization of a Graphi-Q GRQ-3101 to sort out some low frequency coupling, Carlson continues. The Sabine Graphi-Q is a digital 31-band EQ, FBX Feedback Exterminator®, Compressor/Limiter and Digital Delay and comes in single channel (one in, two out) or dual channel (two in, two out) models. The GRQ-3101 (single-channel) and GRQ-3102 (dual-channel) Graphi-Qs can be controlled by their front panels or by very powerful computer software. The GRQ-3101S (single-channel) and GRQ-3102S (dual-channel) Graphi-Qs have blank front panels and are computer controlled. All Graphi-Qs have 70 on-board program memories, multi-unit linking ability and password protection. Furthermore, current and future software and firmware revisions are FREE from Sabine's website. Carlson is a 35-year professional audio veteran starting in High School and working his way through engineering school running sound for the Medora Musical (Medora, ND). North Star Audio has installed audio systems in 10 states, and also handles the audiovisual needs of large corporations at their annual meetings and special events. Graphi-Qs are not the only Sabine equipment North Star uses for success. We used Sabine FBX-1020Pluses at the Minot state fairgrounds in Minot, ND, states Carlson. It was a large corporate event in an enormous metal room with 4,000 folding chairs and the acoustics of a bomber factory, Carlson recalls. North Star was the first audio company to get intelligible sound in the room and the client was overjoyed with it. We couldnt have done it without the Sabine units.
