NOTE: Software version must be compatible with Navigator Firmware version. See notes below.

This software has a "Design" mode, so connection to a Sabine Navigator is not required to test drive the software.

Navigator Software
Take Complete Control of your Navigator!
Navigator Remote for Windows is an intuitive control surface for the Navigator. Almost all controls are available on the front panel, but the software provides far greater flexibility and control. All the major functions you need are there on the screen, ready for use. You rarely need to leave the main screen or pull down a menu to access the control you need.

When connecting to your Navigator, choose either Live Mode for connecting to the Navigator, or Design Mode (offline editing). The Connection screens will allow you to connect via RS232, USB, or Ethernet (4802 or 8802 only). Choose your comm port or IP numbers for the device number your are using (device numbers can be changed in the Navigator in the System-Setup: General menu on the front panel). Your unit is connected when the green status display in the upper left of the main screen shows Link: OK.

Using your computer as a platform gives you unlimited memory storage of Navigator files.  There are three types of files associated with the Navigator:

NDAT (XDT in original version) files: These files are the equivalent of one of the 30 programs that can be stored within the Navigator. All parameters for one Navigator are stored in a .XDT file. You can store as many of these as you need on your PC. These are accessed using the Open File or Save file buttons in Navigator software. To store your work directly in the Navigator as a program, choose Store Prog or Recall Prog.

NLT (XLT in original version) files: These files store a listing of 30 Navigator programs. Store and recall these using the Download function in Navigator software. Think of these files as a way to store all 30 programs of a Navigator in one place. This can be handy if you need to make a backup of everything stored within the Navigator. Or you may want to categorize your programs according to applications. These can be downloaded to the Navigator all at once using XLT files. Use the upload function to move the 30 programs from the Navigator to your PC. The default location for these files is the Sabine/Navigator directory on your PC.

Connection (XST) files: These files are for storing and recalling all parameters related to your connection setup. Information about your Navigator network settings, including the IP addresses, are stored in this file. Save or recall these in the Connection Setup screen.

The GUI is the same as the 6.6.0 version, but the new installer automatically installs the USB drivers for all versions of Windows as part of the installation process.

Version 6.6.0 — April 13, 2010
Fixes some graphical inconsistencies when switching between Navigators with different channel counts in a network. Fixes the save and recall dialogs so that they apply to the correct Navigator when there are multiple Navigators in a network.

Version 6.5.9 — March 31, 2010
Improved com port auto search algorithm. The previous version occasionally reported "Navigator Already Connected" after a search even when it wasn't connected. Improved Vista/Win7 error information. In some installs, the Navigator directory is initially set as 'read-only', which causes an error when saving the Navigator settings file. If this error occurs, the error box explains how to change the directory permissions to fix the error. Added links to Navigator FAQ on www.sabine.com. Most common Navigator questions and solutions are contained in this FAQ.

Version 6.5.8 — December 11, 2009
Fixes Ethernet settings panel in the setup dialog box – sometimes it didn’t show up in version 6.5.7. Also, this version improves USB/COM port Auto-search – sometimes it didn’t find the Navigator.

Version 6.5.7 — October 08, 2009
This adds the automatic com port search function. By clicking on the 'auto' button in the connection screen, the software will automatically determine which port the Navigator is connected to, whether it is RS232 or USB.

Version 6.5.6 — November 14, 2008
Fixes problems with security lock setup, fixes 4802 and 8802 maximum delay time so it is now 650 ms, not 40 ms

Version 6.4.4 — November 14, 2007
Many improvements were made to this version, including: input fields on mixer are controllable via up/down arrows on your keyboard, and holding down the control key when using up/down keys makes gain changes bigger; compressor values are now directly editable in the text boxes; the compressor gain reduction metering now works correctly; improved screen scaling to accommodate non-96 DPI resolution settings; added reset buttons to the EQ filters; and the delay screen now has buttons to control polarity.

Version 6.25 — July 6, 2007
The maximum available delay time on the 4802 and 8802 is corrected to show 650 ms (requires Navigator firmware version 6.02). Load list/save list functions in the Program Download dialog are improved. Improved connection performance when unplugging the USB cable while thesoftware is running. The software does have to be closed and restarted to reconnect via USB, but this is unavoidable. A 'Link Error' message appears when this happens. With RS232 connections the cable can be unplugged andreplugged without restarting the software.

Version 6.23 — June 27, 2007
Version 6.21 enables TCP/IP (Ethernet) connections for the 4802 and 8802, fixes feet and meter calculations for delay values so they match the values on the LCD display, adds the ability to click on all text boxes and enter values using the keyboard, and fixes FBX bypass bug in plot window - clicking bypass enables/disables the FBX filter display correctly for all inputs.

Version 6.21— May 15, 2007
Version 6.21 eliminates screen ‘flicker’ when launching the program and when changing or opening new windows.

Version 6.20— May 11, 2007
Version 6.2 fixes the program Save function so that it doesn’t try to overwrite preset #1, which is now system default and read-only. Screen refresh functions are improved, and the EQ window now loads faster. Fixes several "Download All" and "Reset All" functions. Fixes bugs associated with the connection status indicators and with exiting the program. Recommended for all users. For use with Firmware version 6.0.

Version 6.10— May 7, 2007
Version 6.10 improves off-line editing, enables viewing and printing data, fixes reset functions and several display bugs. For use with Firmware version 6.0.

Version 6.0 — Original Release — April 30, 2007
Initial production release for use only with new Navigator models NAV240, NAV360, and NAV480. For use with Firmware version 6.0.

Version 5.02 — Final version for original Navigator— February 13, 2006
Version 5.02 improves the password interface and fixes a problem with the uploading and downloading of files between the PC and the Navigator device. Buttons for these operations are now labeled “To PC” (copy all 30 presets from the Navigator to your PC) and “To Device” (copy a selectable list of up to 30 presets from your computer to the Navigator). This version also fixes a bug associated with closing and re-opening the software and then having trouble accessing the main window. This upgrade is recommended for all Navigator users. Compatible with firmware versions 5.05 and up.

Version 5.0 - November 17, 2005
This is the production release of Navigator Remote Software. Compatible with firmware version 5.05 and up.
