ALACHUA, FLORIDA – Jeff Sims, owner of Sims Music & Sound, Gainesville, Florida, did not get the initial contract to install the sound system into Gainesville, Florida’s largest church, the Trinity United Methodist Church. Instead, the job came to him in a call for help from the pastors and congregation. Poor sound quality wireless microphones and uncontrollable feedback plagued the immense, newly constructed church and caused church leaders to seek help from a local contractor.

“The first thing we did was to lend them a Sabine Wireless Lapel Microphone for a weekend demo,” states Sims. “It took me about 5 minutes to install the unit, select a channel and let the FBX Feedback Exterminator® ring out the feedback,” Sims remembers. “Right away, you could tell that the mic capsule sounded 10 times better than the well-known unit installed previously,” Sims asserts.

Sabine's True Mobility Wireless Systems include three powerful functions in a component package: Sabine's patented FBX Feedback Exterminator®, Auto De-Esser and Compressor. That means that all of the input processing needed to give loud, clear, crisp and feedback-free program resides in a space-saving 1-U box.
“Sabine’s True Mobility Wireless opened the door for us.”
“Sabine’s True Mobility Wireless opened the door for us,” Sims asserts, and explains. “The following Monday the church leaders called to say they loved the mic and ask was there anything else Sims could do for them.”

Sims recalls that the ease of setup and superior sound quality of the True Mobility made it easy for the church to decide to purchase two more Sabine wireless microphones. “It was easy for me to show them how giving each pastor an individual microphone—tailored for feedback control, compression and de-essing—was the best way to have trouble-free, great-sounding services,” Sims remembers.

Sims’ clean-up work was not over, however. Changes in church program venues compounded the sound system problems. “The program changed the minute the church was finished,” recalls Sims. “Services have expanded to include everything from a folk-music group to a 60-piece rock ensemble three Sundays a month at the mid service with 4 separate monitor mixes,” Sims states. “It seems that when the musicians could hear themselves,” Sims continues, “the congregation either suffered from bombastic feedback or was unable to hear the pastor.” Once again Sims solved the problem with Sabine Adaptive Audio equipment.

Sims chose 3 dual-channel GRQ-3102 Graphi-Qs to provide feedback control and equalization to the monitor mixes and main outputs. The result is that the musicians can hear themselves and the congregation can hear the pastors.

Given the success with the Sabine microphones, selling the Graphi-Qs was the logical next step for Sims. “The Graphi-Q is a really good deal,” confides Sims. “You can’t buy this kind of quality signal processing separately for the price of a Graphi-Q,” he continues.

The Graphi-Q comes in single channel (one in, two out) or dual channel (two in, two out) models. GRQ-3101 and GRQ-3102 Graphi-Qs can be controlled by their front panels or by very powerful computer software. GRQ-3101S and GRQ-3102S Graphi-Qs have blank front panels and are computer controlled. All Graphi-Qs have 70 on-board program memories, multi-unit linking ability and password protection. Furthermore, current and future software and firmware revisions are FREE from Sabine's website.

Sabine also manufactures the True Mobility™ Wireless Systems, including the hot, new 2.4 GHz Smart Spectrum Wireless Systems with Targeted Input Processing (FBX, Compressor/Limiter, De-Esser) and digital Mic SuperModeling™; UHF & VHF True Mobility™ Wireless Systems; POWER-Q™ (nine Pro Audio products in one 2U unit); REAL-Q2™ Real-Time Adaptive Equalizer; FBX-SOLO Feedback Exterminators®; and the SDA-102™ Digital Delay.
