Upgrade Wizard Version Notes: Version 5.0 -- March 31, 2010 This version of the Upgrade Wizard has Added a port auto search: Now the software will find out which port the receiver is connected to without the user having to select a port. This is especially useful for USB-RS232 converters because Windows randomly assigns com port numbers to these devices and the only way to figure out which number is assigned is to use the control panel. This is now automatic. Improved operation with USB-RS232 converters: The Wizard would previously sometimes not work with USB-RS232 converters. Added links to Wireless FAQ on www.sabine.com. Releases: Version 4.9 -- September 04, 2009 Version 4.9 (and higher) of the Upgrade Wizard is required for upgrading SWM6000 2 channel receivers and is compatible with all SWM receivers and GraphiQs. If you are going to upgrade the firmware in your SWM62 or SWM62NDR receiver, you must first install version 4.9 of the Sabine Upgrade Wizard. Version 4.82 -- August 01, 2005 Fixes a problem when running the Upgrade Wizard program on some Asian versions of Windows. - You will
also find the Sabine Upgrade Wizard on the CD ROM you received with
your Graphi-Q2, SWM7000 or, SWM6000 product. Install this program on your computer
by running the setup.exe file in the Upgrade Wizard directory. The program
will place an black icon on your desktop called “Upgrader.”
Double click the Upgrader icon and follow the instructions. NOTE:
Before you run this program, you need to connect to the internet using
your usual connection program and internet service provider.
- Upgrading
firmware is simple when downloading the Sabine Upgrade Wizard with the
latest firmware and software from the web site or CD-ROM. Once
installed, the correct firmware will automatically be placed in a folder
inside the Upgrade Wizard (default placement to C:/Program Files/Sabine/Sabine
Upgrade Wizard). Default label for the firmware is "grq.bin."
- Graphi-Q only: If you acquire new firmware independently of the Sabine Upgrade Wizard (for example, if you already have the Upgrade Wizard installed on your computer before acquiring new firmware), you must place the new firmware inside the folder identified above and rename it grq.bin. Once that is accomplished, you may proceed with the firmware upgrade procedure by checking the “Upgrade GRAPHI-Q firmware” choice on your Upgrade Wizard program. Following this procedure will insure that the firmware loaded into your GRAPHI-Q is the latest and greatest.
